Cong. OH-2nd: Chabot (R) Disavows Endorsement Claimed by Schmidt (R)

For the second time in a week, 2nd Congressional District incumbent Rep. Jean Schmidt (R-Loveland) has been challenged as to an endorsement claimed on her campaign website. As detailed in the Cincinnati Enquirer here, this time the purported endorser is 3rd Congressional District incumbent Rep. Steve Chabot (R-Westwood), pictured:

"Chabot says he didn't endorse Schmidt, who faces a primary challenge May 2 from Republican Bob McEwen, a former congressman from southern Ohio. "We have not been asked for an endorsement by anyone in that race," Chabot spokesman Gary Lindgren said Tuesday, adding that Chabot backs both Schmidt and McEwen."
The other time this happened it was Rep. Tom Tancredo (R-Colorado), the chairman of the House caucus on immigration reform, who asked Schmidt to remove his name from her website because he had not endorsed her.
