Cong OH-18: Ney Will Resign

CNN just reported that according to his attorney, disgraced Rep. Bob Ney (R-Heath), having pleaded guilty today, will resign from Congress within the week. The story is not on the web site yet.

UPDATE: Now CNN is reporting that Republican House leaders are calling for Ney to resign immediately.

2nd UPDATE:
Zack Space (D-Dover) has issued press release calling on State Sen. Joy Padgett (R-Coshocton) to break her ties to corruption and sign his ethics pledge. "It's time to move forward and restore the trust of the people. Joy Padgett has refused to sign my ethics pledge to not accept gifts, trips and meals from lobbyists to return responsible leadership that will always benefit working families of Ohio," Space wrote. "Handpicked by Bob Ney and Bob Taft, Padgett has been part of the problem in Columbus and would represent more of the same in Washington. It's time for new leadership that puts working families ahead of special interests."
