Sen: New Ad Blasts DeWine (R) on National Security

Great new spot from the campaign of Rep. Sherrod Brown (D-Avon), hitting back hard against Sen. Mike DeWine (R-Cedarville) on national security. I'm glad to see this ad, which I think is very well done. Fear is all that DeWine and the Republican Party have got left in their arsenal, and they're going to try to pound Democrats with their miserable "soft on terror" and "cut and run" smears straight through to the election. Democrats can't try to change the subject, they're got to respond:

[I have removed the embedded link, but the video is available here.]

UPDATE: Here's statement from Brown aide Ben LaBolt on the ad:

"Senator DeWine has a long history of using distortions and smears in order to hide his failed record," said LaBolt. "Mike DeWine hired the firm that produced the Swift Boat ads to create an attack ad that distorted Sherrod Brown's voting record and the Plain Dealer said ‘sorely lack[ed] context.' DeWine accused Senator John Glenn, one of Ohio's heroes, of being a Communist sympathizer. Senator DeWine has a record of failure on the Intelligence Committee - he voted against investigating the false intelligence that led us to war, missed nearly half of the committee's public meetings, and shelved and then dismissed a critical report which concluded the war in Iraq is increasing the terrorist threat to our nation."

Great ad.

My BIG question.. why is Brown not running any agressive ads solely about Iraq fiasco?? Brown does mention things like body armor, etc in some ads but there is not a single ad out there that talks about Iraq. Isn't Iraq a very very strong point for Brown? Brown voted against the war while DeWHine voted for the war.

Brown or Democratic party ad can show pictures of Bush and Cheney talking about WMDs and all other lies about Iraq and then merge DeWHine's face into them and ask question like do we need a rubberstamp?
