Sen: Brown (D) Lands Four Committee Assignments

Senator-elect Sherrod Brown (D-Avon) will sit on four committees:

Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions

Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs

Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry

Veterans' Affairs

Brown did not get the Senate Finance Committee seat that he wanted, but the assignments he did get sound terrific for him and for a senator from Ohio (well, except maybe the forestry part). The Plain Dealer notes that the banking assignment "will allow him to have a say on trade."
