Illegal Immigration is the New Gay Marriage

The Republicans seem to be putting a lot of their eggs into the illegal immigration basket this year. Yesterday we saw the direct mail piece assailing Dr. Victoria Wulsin (D-Indian Hill) on illegal immigration, today we read that a new organization has been formed to whip up public hysteria at "town hall meetings" on the supposed threat of increased crime allegedly brought to Ohio communities by illegal immigrants. These town halls are to be attended by public officials, all Republicans:

MORROW -- Citizens for Legal Communities will hold the first in a series of "Town Hall" meetings at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 9 at the Little Miami High School, 3001 E. U.S. 22/Ohio 3 in Morrow.

The group was formed by several Warren County residents who are concerned about illegal immigration and the increased crime they say it brings to their neighborhoods. William Barnhill, whose son Kevin was killed outside the Mason Pub allegedly by one or more illegal immigrants, co-founded the group.

A panel of public officials plans to attend, including Reps. Gary Cates and Courtney Combs, of Butler County; Reps. Michelle Snider and Bob Schuler, of Warren County; Warren County prosecutor Rachel Hutzel, Warren County Sheriff Tom Ariss and Butler County Sheriff Richard Jones.
