Ohio Sen 27th & 29th: Incumbents Endorsed

The Cleveland Plain Dealer today published a rather ambivalent endorsement of Sen. Kevin Coughlin (R-Cuyahoga Falls) over Judy Hanna (D-Akron) in the 27th Ohio Senate District. The editors agree with Hanna that one-party rule has injured Ohio, and characterize Coughlin as "bright" but note that "we have disagreed with Coughlin on several high-profile issues" and "he doesn't always channel that knowledge in the right direction." Not a very enthusiastic recommendation.

In the 29th Ohio Senate District, the Akron Beacon Journal yesterday endorsed Sen. Kirk Schuring (R-Canton) over City Council member Thomas West (D-Canton), praising Schuring's "moderate, pragmatic style."
