Sen: My LTE Published in Cleveland Plain Dealer Today

Here is the text of my letter to the editors, published in the Cleveland Plain Dealer today:
Sen. Mike DeWine piously intones that only he can safeguard our national security, but that claim is undercut by his horrible attendance record at public and private meetings of the Senate Intelligence Committee.

It is his job as a senator to attend those meetings and ask tough questions of the leaders of our intelligence agencies, and of nominees seeking confirmation to those posts. He has not done his job. He should be fired.

It is time for a senator who will do the hard work of performing true oversight of our overreaching, underperforming executive branch of government.
I urge all readers to write to your local papers on this issue.

You're absolutely right, anyone like Sherrod who voted to cut intelligence funding more than a dozen times before the Sept. 11, 2001, would make a great watchdog over our nation's security.

Get a clue, people. Take off the blinders.
