Treasurer: Plain Dealer Endorses Cordray (D)

Another glowing endorsement for County Treasurer Rich Cordray (D-Grove City) over County Auditor Sandra O'Brien (R-Ashtabula) today, this time from the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Calling it the easiest choice among the statewide races, the editors note Cordray's experience and write that "in terms of ability, brainpower and resume, O'Brien is no match for Cordray." Cordray "not only understands the importance of being a responsible custodian of tax dollars," but "he could use the office of state treasurer in innovative ways that safely leverage resources to benefit Ohio's economy." As for O'Brien, they point out that her record as Ashtabula County Treasurer has been "decidedly mixed."
