Early Reaction from State Sen. CJ Prentiss

I spoke to Ohio Senate Minority Leader C.J. Prentiss (D-Cleveland) at about 1:30 pm. I asked for her sense of how things look for the Democratic Party. She said, "I could sing a song, and it would go "Oh, Blue! ... Oh, Blue!" She is doing "a lot of reflection today on 12 years of regression, on 12 years of holding people of poverty in disdain." There was much powerful emotion in her voice.

Prentiss said that she sees the minimum wage ballot issue winning big and "making a definite statement," and foresees good news for the entire Democratic ticket. I asked about turnout and she said that she's not doing field work, but she hears from people in the field that there are lines, although nothing like the lines in 2004. She did not experience lines at her polling place, however, which is in an extremely depressed area near 92nd and St. Clair in Cleveland.
